Pictured is a rebuilt bearing journal on an Edger Roll used in the Steel industry for structural steel production forming billets into a specific shape. This cast heavy duty roll became unusable due to the deteriorated bearing fit dimensions but roll working area was in excellent shape. Due to the cast material, welding was not an option and the damage depth was far greater that electroplating would not be a practical option. This customer contacted ASB Industries requesting expedited delivery. ASB Industries prepared the roll prior to thermal spray, used a hard carbon steel spray material and finished journal area to print dimensions bringing the roll back to a usable state in less than 1 ½ weeks. All processing was complemented by our handling capabilities and large machine tools dedicated to our turnkey services.
