A new Horizontal Boring Mill was recently installed and commissioned at ASB Industries. The machine installation was placed on an existing cement pad replacing a well-used older Horizontal Mill that was no longer able to meet machining tolerances.
This new manual machine is equipped with a digital readout for all axis that gives our Machinists another tool added to our other new machine tools added to ASB during the past two years.
The Mill has 4.3” Spindle with a 43” x 47” Table with a weight capacity of approximately 9,000lbs.
Projects include journal boring on roll journal replacement, multiple machining capabilities for the many coal Pulverizer components ASB processes and general machining that supports ASB hard surfacing-thermal spray services.
The following link will show ASB’s machining capabilities. As mentioned, our machining capabilities allow turnkey-in-house processing for pre and post machining projects to support our thermal spray, cold spray and welding/PTA hard surfacing.
